What to expect during a Biomechanical Assessment?
1. Medical history evaluation – A thorough assessment of the medical history, injury/pain history, lifestyle and other contributing factors, as well as any specific concerns or symptoms will be discussed and evaluated to understand individual needs and expectations.
2. Physical Examination – A detailed physical examination including a musculoskeletal assessment of the lower limb, foot and ankle will be carried out to identify underlying causes of pain such as reduction of joint range of motion, flexibility, and muscle strength. Your foot posture and gait analysis (your manner of walking) may also be evaluated.
What happens after a Biomechanical Assessment?
Based on the assessment findings, a personalised management plan will be devised to address specific concerns and goals. Treatment may consist of:
· Footwear evaluation and recommendations
· Stretching and strengthening exercises
· Orthotics therapy or other interventions aimed at improving your foot function and relieving discomfort
Foot orthoses, commonly called orthotics or insoles, are specially designed shoe inserts that help to support alignment of the feet, improve foot function, or to redistribute pressure and relieve pain.
Our affordable orthoses devices range from £60 to £90 depending on what is required.
